Following the recent webinar covering the Problem Reporter, I decided to cover the problems that happen AFTER the Reporter. First you might encounter problems exporting. Once you get those resolved, you need to send your order. Should be easy enough, and usually it is, but sometimes you can have problems there too. Since we don't have 24 hour support coverage, we thought it might be helpful to post some tips on how to resolve some of those issues too. Now when you go to send your order at 5AM, you might be able to help yourself before you even need us to help you! Problem #1: Photojunction Crashes To View More >>

PJ Nanny took to the airwaves again last week, bless her, and 'gently encouraged' Danny and I to run a webinar on the Photojunction Problem Reporter – which, let's face it, drives some of you nuts. And yet in the bindery we see order after order come in with no aggravation whatsoever. So what's the secret? Actually there are a few and we're happy to share. So with the promise of freshly baked scones for morning tea, we've booked a time to talk through some tips and tricks to make the pain go away. We've also asked our support team to send through a few real life examples of Problem Reporter To View More >>

Let's face it, PJ Nanny's Photojunction Problem Reporter drives some of you nuts. And yet in the bindery we see order after order come in with no aggravation whatsoever. So what's the secret? Actually there are a few, so we've booked a webinar to talk through some tips and tricks to make the pain go away. We've also asked our support team to send through a few real life examples to discuss, and as usual you'll be able to ask your own questions. Here's the details: Thursday 14 October @ 9am (NZDT) - What time does that makes it in your part of the world? Click here to register and for further information. To View More >>

I was listening to a lovely song by Amy Seeley and was imagining images in my head. The song is haunting and has a feeling of being connected to a story. When I think about stories I usually think in a visual way. Creating a relationship between sound and imagery that isn't literal is a powerful thing. That is the difference between an album of images from a wedding, and the emotional and visual journey that is an album as a story, a collection of memories, a journey, a love, and a destination. One is a set of pictures, and the other is a visual and emotional soundscape - a song in my head. What To View More >>

A discussion about album upload times (specifically the length of them) last week reminded me of a good post Danny wrote on the Junction a while back, about internet connection speeds, pricing and plans. While we do everything we can at our end to optimise the FTP process, ultimately (album) upload speed is determined by your internet provider, so it pays to understand exactly what you're getting for your money. Here's Danny's post – Nigel Warning: contains math and abbreviations From time to time I'm asked for advice about internet connection speeds and pricing plans, so here goes... Most To View More >>

If you haven't been to the Photojunction website or blog lately, you won't recognise them. What's going on? Well, the old PJ site had to go, for several reasons. • Danny was embarrassed by it (me too). • PJ has changed so fast that a lot of the support info was out of date. • There's a bit of misinformation out there (I'll get to that). • And it's high time we came out of the closet… So here's the story: In case you don't know, Photojunction is a Queensberry project. It dates back ten years to when we first realised that any album supplier without a software solution was history (we were To View More >>

Some of our clients enjoy smoother sailing than others. Less aggravation, calmer waters... An interesting thought whichever group you fall into! One important reason for this is that some of you understand our systems better than others. And yes, we accept we don't always do a good enough job of explaining them. One reason for this blog is to address the problem with bite-sized tutorials on topics suggested by you or our own staff. So over the next few days we’re going to discuss a few key issues. Here’s our goal: For you, an efficient, easy-to-understand system that gets you back to shooting To View More >>

We've been talking a lot about smooth sailing lately, with two goals in mind. For you, an efficient and easy-to-use system. And for us, an order that's accurate, error-free and ready to go straight into production. Fair to say then, that it's in both of our interest to sail through the ordering and production process as quickly as possible. But when your order doesn't sail through - what holds it up? Here are a few simple things that we've found to be the most common cause of delays (long delays in some cases). 1) Missing print files (cover images) are the most common - people just forget to include To View More >>
