Hi, it's Stephen here. For a few weeks now we’ve been in deep discussions about how to navigate the current COVID crisis and, more importantly, support the industry we love so much. So it seems a little ironic that, as part of those discussions, today we’re releasing a book called “Love’s Not Enough”. Ironic because we do love our industry, we believe love drives our industry, and yet … love's not enough. Blogging for your photography business can seem like a tricky and time-consuming task, but there are important benefits. Here are just some ways blogging can help your business grow. 01. Help people get to know you Your blog is a chance for clients to get to know you and your personality in a conversational and casual way. Talk about the things you love. That may be strictly personal, like how much you love travel (although everyone seems to say that!). If you shoot weddings maybe it's how you love hearing how couples met, and what they love about each To View More >>
If you can’t name five things that differentiate you from your competitors, there’s probably only one – your price. Here's what differentiates Queensberry: 1. We believe the way to succeed is to stand out from the crowd, not to join it. There’s less competition, more satisfaction and more pride at the high end of the market … and it’s our job to help get you there. Think of our albums as profit centres, not costs. 2. We’re design-led. The people in your viewfinder will be looking at your albums for much longer than we will. They must look beautiful To View More >>

This sample album for Feather & Birch Photography (AUS) features a stunning venue and impressive photography. Matt from Feather and Birch says, "Mudgee-based, I travel the globe to photograph the world's best weddings. But no matter how far I roam, there’s nowhere like home. This little gem is probably our favourite venue in New South Wales! A big white marquee set amongst the vineyards makes the perfect backdrop for some of Mudgee’s best weddings. "We spend a lot of our weekends out here but this album captures some of our favourites from the 2017 season." The album To View More >>

Photographs are the most personal of gifts! Talking about Christmas and the holidays in October seems a little weird, but the holiday season does seem to start earlier every year – and when it comes to marketing, it pays to be prepared. The festive season is a great time to promote yourself to existing customers. You've spent all year taking photographs, so why not maximise the profit on each shoot with online galleries, product sales and special offers? We spoke to retiring Queensberry account manager Michelle about her tips for holiday promotions, and marketing pointers To View More >>

Sonja Gardien's Studio 541 has taken on the Auckland art scene, showcasing both emerging and established photographers. We took some time out to chat about what it takes to run a gallery space, and what photographers need to know before they submit their work. Sonja wanted to create a space for photographers to exhibit, learn, meet and be inspired. “It’s important to identify a niche," she says. "There are a lot of galleries around. You need to be different. It seemed logical to utilise Studio 541, not only for a gallery, but also as a space to attend workshops and To View More >>

Spring Smith lives in the mountains of Maine in north east New England, USA, and her location impacts both her photography and the events she covers. “We don’t have many ballrooms, so most of my images are taken outside, and when we are inside typically it’s a large barn or a tent.” She thinks living in a rural area makes for a slightly more relaxed atmosphere. Weddings aren’t the high end, over-the-top luxury type. “We are surrounded by the creatives, nature lovers, the couples who want to be outside or want to bring the outside in.” But she To View More >>

"When you love something so much it's easy to become completely consumed by it." Tammie Pittwood was always the one with the camera at school. She had a thing for capturing moments, and from early on a passion for photography. But was equally as good at painting and decided to take a Fine Arts degree. She loved it but after graduating realised it wasn't for her. She loved the creative process of painting, and still misses it sometimes, but as a career it didn't inspire her as much. Throughout university she photographed a few weddings for her friends, and so began her natural progression To View More >>
