SEARCH RESULTS FOR: Support

After talking to Jessica Mills from NZ Colour Management, I thought we should bring in someone from the front lines! Philip Laing is one of our lab support specialists, and if my conversation with him paints a picture of a bunch of people obsessed with quality and delivering you the best possible album, my work is done. If you get get an insight into the many ways in which our lab service is truly unique in the album business, even better! Philip is what we call a "support detective". With a stack of experience – and huge enthusiasm for photography – he's in the front line every day ensuring To View More >>

All software evolves as new features are added and new versions released. Photojunction and Photoshop are no exception, and, as PJ takes advantage of more, often newer, features of Photoshop, its "backwards compatibility" with older versions is lessened. That's why we recommend that you use Photoshop CS3 or later with Photojunction. If you use CS2 or even earlier, chances are that it will work fine, but you may occasionally find that some PSD files don't import correctly as images or templates, or that you get error messages when exporting with PS scripting. If that happens, all Support can do To View More >>

Having worked on the Photojunction help desk for the last six weeks I have had a very good chance to look more closely at this great piece of software. I have seen the problems people have with it. The problems fall into three categories ... The software, the user, the computer. The software is good. Actually it is really good. It's not perfect, but with every iteration it gets better, and if it was ever perfect the developers would be out of a job. It has weaknesses but they are outweighed by its strengths. It could never be perfect because it is constantly evolving to meet the needs of a changing To View More >>

Danny's Last Day from Photojunction on Vimeo. Ian talks to Danny about successes and frustrations; wow features he wishes he'd plugged in the webinars; how to be a happy software user (any software); how and why PJ differs from layout programs like InDesign; and why you can depend on the PJ support and development teams. Yesterday Johannes asked if you could send PJ Support some interesting design questions, and I think you'd better. Methinks his mind's started wandering - Ed. The first time you have sex there are so many things that could go wrong. The second time you know a bit more about what happens, but that doesn't mean that things are any easier. If, the first time you had sex, you focused on having fun over getting it right, the experience would probably be 100 times more enjoyable. 100 times more enjoyable because you would be free to get it wrong, or right, without the judgement. If you watched all the To View More >>

I have taken up a temporary position helping out with the Photojunction support team. One thing that I have noticed is that people seem to have more problems with the mechanics of Photojunction not fitting into their own experience or habits. Hardly ever does anybody ask for design advice. I wonder if it is the same with photography. People will ask about technical things like lighting and composition but much less often about content and emotion. ARE WE TOO SHY? I don't think so! As photographers we are called upon to be the creative voice for our clients. Is it that we don't like to ask for help? To View More >>

The purpose of our recent survey was to get a better picture of how you're using the software, and the features most important to you. It turns out you use Photojunction to design albums for almost a hundred album suppliers that we don't even offer resources for - no wonder a third of you "always" use Remix DIY! It's also clear that unless you're one of Queensberry's clients you're most likely using PJ primarily to design and export page layouts. That's not so surprising. Getting past "page design" requires a lot of input from vendors, and unfortunately they're much less engaged with PJ than their To View More >>

Hi All, we need a favour. Our newest recruit, Angelique, is taking some time off to have a baby. (Congrats again to Angelique and Pete.) But while Angelique is off on leave we'll need a temporary replacement to help with Photojunction support - answering emails, phone calls, tweets, and Facebook posts (with a dash of blogging). You can work from home (as New Zealand can be a killer commute) and use your own computer. Other than that we'll sort you out with software and a phone to get the job done. Here are a few details: - Monday - Friday, 9am - 3pm EST (If you can't figure out how those hours To View More >>

What if you want us to print your cover image, but nothing else? 1. When you fire up the Remix Order Wizard , choose either the "Assemble From Prints Supplied" or Don't Assemble" option. 2. On the same screen the Wizard will offer a place to include "support files" for your album supplier. Open your folder of High-Res Export files and drag in a copy of the cover image (don't double up by sending it to your lab to print as well). 3. Remix may ask you if you want us to print the cover image (generally it'll be obvious what you want, in which case Remix won't ask). Be sure to say Yes. 4. When the To View More >>

Most of the albums we make are now printed and bound by us, but the guys from Front Room have chosen a road less traveled – Self-Mount Digital albums. There are pluses and minuses to DIY but (strictly from our own point of view) it sometimes feels… a little distant. We never get to see what goes into those books! But Front Room buy a lot of albums, so we thought we’d ask them to share. Recently they ordered a two volume 15x12 Rose Buckram set. Which is great for everyone: the clients obviously loved the images, and the studio's made a nice sale (and had 40% discount on the second cover). To View More >>
