By tolerances we mean the threshold at which Photojunction's Problem Reporter will report an aperture misalignment. Confusing I know, so let me explain... Photojunction detects apertures that aren't exactly aligned with each other (misalignments) and warns you about them in the Problem Reporter. Because misalignments show up as 'Warnings' in the Problem Reporter you could ignore them and move on to send the order if you wanted. However we strongly recommend checking and resolving any reported misalignments as a slight aperture misalignment (say 1-2mm) is probably not deliberate, and will probably To View More >>

We introduced Smart Centering in release 1.32, and you told us you loved it. So in 1.39b, we've made Smart Centering a whole lot smarter. Photojunction now Smart Centers apertures in the remaining available space on a layout. Here's an example of a split mat (Fill Full Height or Fill Full Width) aperture layout. The smaller of the two apertures has been centered in the remaining available space on the mat, as the measurements and purple alignment line indicates. You can also hover your mouse over the 'Align to page centre' button in the Tools window to find the center of the remaining available To View More >>

Psst... Photojunction's just snuck out another beta release, 1.39b! I feel like we say this every time we blog about a new release, but it's another biggie. There's way too much new PJ goodness in 1.39b to show you in one post, so keep tuned for our next series of 1.39b feature posts over the next couple of weeks. Before we go though, here's a little of what to expect in 1.39b... Work's been done to improve the Alignment features (Smart centering in particular), we've changed the way templates operate (for the better), and we've given you even more control by adding a few new features to the Preferences To View More >>

Like many good things Musée begins with a story. In fact it begins with three stories, and the real magic is how they weave together... The first begins several years ago with a traveller on a bus in Spain, who strikes up a conversation with the woman sitting next to him. They like each other enough to introduce themselves. He's a wedding photographer from the far side of the world, in Spain on a scholarship. She's a paper conservator living in England, home to visit her family in Barcelona - and as it turns out, later, in love. The photographer and the conservator like each other enough to swap To View More >>

If you’re still using Photojunction Retro, an updated set of album resources has been released to reflect Queensberry’s new season range. These include new album formats and cover materials, and updated personalised title and cover options. You’ll need to download these resources so you can order the new products – and also to ensure that the orders you send us are accurate, complete and comply with our requirements. If you haven't done so already, now may be the time to upgrade to PJ Remix. Then you won’t have to worry about updating your resources as Remix does it automatically (provided To View More >>

Alan (not his real name) and his wife were long-standing clients of one of our competitors. They came to us because they didn't like the way they'd been treated. Unlike Katherine, who likes us (even if she's frustrated), we haven't earned anything from Alan and his wife except a chance to win their business. Alan's customers really like our Duos, which of course they couldn't get before, but he finds designing and ordering them difficult. Alan designs them on paper and his wife recreates them in Remix. Alan's designs are reasonably complex, his wife is a fan of her old software (which can't handle To View More >>

This post is now superseded by new Photojunction functionality. If you're uploading your Queensberry album orders using LabFTP, we've just released version 3, with added functionality for ordering prints from QBY online. We're very excited about the online print ordering function – but it's restricted for now to New Zealand clients, so let me talk first about how it impacts on albums. LabFTP 3 integrates more closely with PJ Remix. For example you're no longer asked to provide information that you've already entered in PJ. It also shares Remix's look and feel. Version 3 is no longer a beta, To View More >>

At weddings there are always time burglars stealing from the innocent, so we talk to our clients about how long things really take ... so we don't lose the time we need. Sometimes this means that a cunning couple will deliberately try to run us out of time because they hate having their photographs taken. We distract them by focusing on their feelings for each other instead of their feelings about photography – easy if you aren't constantly asking them to smile for the camera. One of the most guilty time burglars is the make-up artist … stealing time from the photographer to get the perfect To View More >>
