“Taking pictures is savoring life intensely, every hundredth of a second.”  ―  Marc Riboud To celebrate a social media milestone Kelly Wolfe held a competition. She asked her followers to send in their stories, with one of them winning an afternoon photo shoot. You can see why Kelly decided to use the photographs, of Chase, Deo and Brody, the perfect three, for her Queensberry sample album. The dogs' owner (also called Kelly!) says her first and oldest fur baby was Brody, a "Sibord" — half Siberian Husky, half Border Collie. "He was To View More >>

"I love a little quirk from time to time - something different for the soul — to keep things fresh, to keep the spark alive and to fuel my passion for wedding photography…” Maybe that explains why Jonny Harper did such an incredible job of capturing Tanaya and Mathew's wedding. I was so excited to discover their album coming through the Bindery. Working on this blog post was a lot of fun, with rabbits hidden in the bushes, incredible walls of art and so much more… Tanaya is  a set designer, Matthew a base player for his London based jazz band. I run the Queensberry Bindery - never say "factory"! It’s a great privilege, and we do enjoy watching visitors gasp and smile at how much handwork and care goes into making a Queensberry. So this week, as we release our new packaging, I thought I'd show you how even our presentation box is a handmade product! We love handmade, and we love the companies that practice it, so we felt right at home with Glenn and the team at Artrite. They do a lot of fine art screen printing for New Zealand artists like Dick Frizzell, Stanley Palmer, Michael Smithers and the late Don Binney. You can see some To View More >>

This sparkly, baby pink Q-box could not be more perfect for wee Harlyn’s photographs. Each photograph is bursting vibrancy and character. Katrina from Accent Photography in Auckland, New Zealand was behind the lens and what a beautiful job she has done! Katrina has chosen a 14x10 Q-box covered in Buckram Pretty Pink. Customize embossing is positioned at the bottom right in our ‘Futura’ style. I love the all the bright colours in this shoot (and not to mention all the candy!) You can choose either a 14x11 or 8x10 Matted Q box with four depths To View More >>

CHOICE, TRUST AND TECHNOLOGY Has your lab stopped offering traditional silver halide printing? It’s sad to see such a gloriously refined technology abandoned. With forty years pro lab experience, and chemicals in our veins, we aren’t ready to turn our backs on traditional photographic printing just yet. In fact we think it retains an important place, and we’re committed to the technology. But here’s why the Big Boy Labs are selling the line that silver halide is finished. Their top priority is, and must be, internal efficiency. They have expensive, high-volume machines to To View More >>

Q Boxes are perfect table-top showstoppers and a great way to present a selection of photographs. This 14x10 matted Q Box is filled with the most darling engagement photographs of Megan and Dave, taken in Wellington, New Zealand. Captured by the team at Patina Photography, that gorgeous 5'oclock light is in full force - and I like what I see! The Q Box is striking in metallic Baby Blue Buckram. Q Boxes include a ribbon so you can easily remove the matted prints. It's hard to put into words the privilege to photograph an engagement; Megan and Dave are two of the most softly spoken To View More >>

We’re truly grateful to the hundreds of photographers from around the world who took part in our Bragging Rights promotion. Here, in no particular order, are the people whose work we chose to celebrate the love and laughter, vibrant cultures, dramatic environments and compelling stories we see every day in the books and albums we make... We love meeting New Zealanders doing good things around the world, so it was great to catch up with Rachael and Andy McKenna last night. Born and bred a Kiwi, Rachael has published fourteen books over the course of her career, reflecting her passion for photographing pets and babies. Rachael and Andy have been based in France for the last four years, so no surprise that her latest titles are the delightful The French Cat, The French Dog and Lunch in Provence. Rachael's latest project is The New York Dog. If you're card-carrying dog lovers like us, you'll find the images in this blog post heartwarming. To View More >>
