Jennifer from Nova Photography recently changed over to a Workspace hosted site. We had a quick chat with her about the process and why she made the switch.  Tell us about yourself and what you do! I'm a Scot/Kiwi, having lived equally on both sides of the globe, I'm a wife and a mother as well as custom portrait photographer! I love to work with families and especially love pregnancy and newborn shoots. Nothing is more amazing to me than creating everlasting memories for my clients and providing them with timeless portraits to look back on and treasure forever! I am also moving in to birth photography To View More >>

We were delighted when Donal Doherty recently shared these beautiful pictures on his blog. (Full post here) Donal designed this 14x10 classic matted album for his clients Karen and Gary. They chose an embossed onyx micro leather cover with a page mount style inside, designed with black borders under a hand cut ivory mat. Karen and Gary also ordered two parent albums as well, which are smaller, digital copies of the main album. We love the results! Thanks for sharing your beautiful work with us Donal :) To View More >>

Are you showing people what you want them to buy? I'll bet you're not. This is important, and so simple... Why does the "business you" want to sell albums? Because they're a surefire way to create extra income from two scarce resources - your time and your wedding bookings. I just got off skype from a photographer complaining because she can't sell albums. Wants to … but can't. But look at her website, or almost any photographers' website, and how many albums do you see? Almost none. How many photographers are showing what they (want to) sell? Almost none. So what's the difference between them To View More >>

In case you missed it, you can now submit your albums (via Photojunction's Album Setup window) for featuring on our blog. We've had such a great response we're going to see if we can take it a step further… As well as featuring an album a week on the Queensberry Blog we're going to try for one per day on our I Own a Queensberry Facebook page (the first one has just gone up). Remember, before submitting your album design (, make sure you've got the right to use the images. And since we can’t cope with gazillions of submissions, please only click Yes when the album's REALLY hot. We’ll love To View More >>

For a little hippy nostalgia you couldn’t ask for better than Sami Sunchild’s Red Victorian Bed & Breakfast, Peaceful World Center & Cafe in Haight-Ashbury. Still going strong 45 years after the Summer of Love. Nice food too. But it was Sami's take on how to be an entrepreneur that struck us most, and reminded me of so many photographers! Heather spotted it on the wall next to our lunch table (click here for full size). And if you think being an entrepreneur is easy, read this. All you need is love. And perseverance. Cheers, Ian Here's Grace, Janis and Jimmi for ya. To View More >>

We love quality materials, and quality workmanship, and we have the deepest respect for the people behind them. I remember our first visit to the French tannery that supplies our Contemporary leathers – being awestruck by the sheer number of colourful hides hanging in the rafters, all the one gorgeous shade, and all destined for Hermès. So when we came across the Hermès travelling Festival des Metiers (Festival of Crafts) we spared a moment to touch the leather hides and watch the leather craftsman at work. What blew us away, though, was the silk-screening demonstration. As I'm sure it does To View More >>

Yesterday's visits took us into the heart of first Ideo, then Google and Survey Monkey. All of them amazingly impressive with much to teach us about how you get to be the best in the world and create environments that foster creativity. We spend a lot of time at work, and with the people there. The better we can make work, the better our lives, but it's got harder since the financial meltdown. But Google sort of borrowed my breath, so to speak. The sheer magnitude: 16,000 people on the campus we visited. Hardly any looking older than 16, though they assured us the age range is extensive. One of the things I love most about our newest product update, is how tidy and streamlined it appears on our site. If you haven't looked already, have a browse of our new product pages and you'll see our new categories (Pressbooks, Flushmount, Overlay Matted, Classic Matted, Duo, Musee) and within each one we have a breakdown of all the options for that product: pages, sizes, cover styles, cover materials and accessories. Not only do I like it because I think it keeps things simple and tidy for photographers to look at, but I also think it can be a powerful tool for getting your clients (and potential To View More >>
