What if you want us to print your cover image, but nothing else? 1. When you fire up the Remix Order Wizard , choose either the "Assemble From Prints Supplied" or Don't Assemble" option. 2. On the same screen the Wizard will offer a place to include "support files" for your album supplier. Open your folder of High-Res Export files and drag in a copy of the cover image (don't double up by sending it to your lab to print as well). 3. Remix may ask you if you want us to print the cover image (generally it'll be obvious what you want, in which case Remix won't ask). Be sure to say Yes. 4. When the To View More >>

Cover layout design in PJ Remix Here are the first steps in preparing a perfect, hassle-free print-and-bind order, really fast. 1. First, upgrade to PJ Remix. If you have already, thank you. 2. Use Remix to design your cover as well as your page layouts. You'll get to frame and crop the cover image yourself, see exactly what it looks like and be sure that it looks good. For example, here you can see how much of the image in the photo front cover layout above has been cropped away. No problem in this case, but many images won't be suitable: 3. Export your cover AND page layouts using Remix's Export To View More >>

We owe a big thank you to all the people who completed our survey recently. We had a great response, and we thought you'd like to know the outcome. There were two major surprises, as you'll see. 1. We listed all the vendors whose resources we distribute, and asked you to tell us which companies you use. People named an average of two companies each, and some people named several. 2. Over a third named Queensberry as one of their suppliers, but the first big surprise was that 40% of respondents wrote in the name of a company whose resources we don't offer. In fact we discovered that PJ is used to To View More >>

Let's wrap up this Problem reporter series and stop ignoring the elephant in the room… Who needs a problem reporter anyway? After all, as we confirmed at the webinar it drives some people nuts. Well I'm glad you asked! I should start by saying it's not an unusual concept. Try googling "pre-flight", for example, and check out the Wikipedia and Adobe listings in particular. What the pre-flight process does in the printing industry is ensure that digital files sent for printing are all present, valid, correctly formatted, and of the desired type. Why? Because, if they're not, the job can't be done. To View More >>

Following the recent webinar covering the Problem Reporter, I decided to cover the problems that happen AFTER the Reporter. First you might encounter problems exporting. Once you get those resolved, you need to send your order. Should be easy enough, and usually it is, but sometimes you can have problems there too. Since we don't have 24 hour support coverage, we thought it might be helpful to post some tips on how to resolve some of those issues too. Now when you go to send your order at 5AM, you might be able to help yourself before you even need us to help you! Problem #1: Photojunction Crashes To View More >>

The IT guys are very excited because Queensberry is about to implement a major network upgrade, including a change of providers. We won't know ourselves when it's done. If you have lots of bandwidth at your end you'll notice a substantial speed upgrade when uploading orders. However you could notice a disruption to the following services over the next few days: FTP order uploads Account login (access to our secure server) Photojunction registrations Phone (we use VOIP). Any disruption will occur as our new DNS address propagates across the internet. Some ISPs enforce as much 24 hours for an update, To View More >>

A discussion about album upload times (specifically the length of them) last week reminded me of a good post Danny wrote on the Junction a while back, about internet connection speeds, pricing and plans. While we do everything we can at our end to optimise the FTP process, ultimately (album) upload speed is determined by your internet provider, so it pays to understand exactly what you're getting for your money. Here's Danny's post – Nigel Warning: contains math and abbreviations From time to time I'm asked for advice about internet connection speeds and pricing plans, so here goes... Each version of Photojunction takes us further towards a seamless workflow to design, export and upload your album orders to Queensberry – right first time and hassle-free.. If you're using Queensberry this is just a reminder that you no longer need to use LabFTP. Photojunction does it all, and the advantage is that the processes are managed and automated – so there’s minimal opportunity for anything to go wrong, and you’ll get your album faster. We're proud to announce that New Zealand’s two specialist Pro Labs are to merge. Bob and Lena Tulloch have decided it’s time to exit the lab business after twenty-seven years so they can focus on their studio and gallery in Mt Maunganui. They are delighted that the Super-Lab operation will become part of Queensberry’s lab services. Bob says, “After so many years of personal involvement in the printing business this will inevitably be a wrench, but we are personally committed to making the transition a success for Super-Lab clients. Queensberry has the same commitment as Super-Lab to quality, To View More >>
