Last night we released PJ Remix version 1.32 beta. We're pretty excited about some of the improvements and we've already had some great feedback. In this version we've focused heavily on refining current features. Alignment's a big one... We've added anchors (dots) to the alignment lines to indicate which apertures are perfectly aligned with each other. And we've made the snap-to guides even stickier to ensure your apertures snap in to alignment from even further out. You may have also noticed the red notification symbol above the Photojunction Store link on the home page. That'll show you the To View More >>

Here’s a wedding from the ends of the earth, where your albums come from. Louise and Tom were married before 250 guests at the First Church, Dunedin New Zealand, on 24th February 2007. Louise's dress was made by Louise Anderson of Christchurch (no relation!) with fabric brought back by the bride from a shopping trip in Italy. With that exception the groom was an equal opportunity wedding planner. The wedding was photographed by New Zealand’s 2006 Wedding Photographer of the Year Jo Grams, of Moda Fotografica . It was an “exhausting” 12 hour shoot, with just one photographer, and ended To View More >>

Sometimes it's nice to reminisce... When we started to rewrite Photojunction we named the master file "PJ Jr." as a joke - that name still stands as our project name today... some 3 years later. All the full time developers we started with for the rewrite, are still with us. It took 3,000 development hours to get Remix to a stage where we could send it to other staff to have a look. That would've taken one person a year and a half to complete on their own. My personal favourite email... One of our beta testers emailed to tell us she considered PJ Remix to be a 'metro' bit of software. The developers To View More >>

What caught our eye about Scott and Priscilla’s album was the stylish simplicity of their red and white theme, and how well it'd been captured and reflected in the details of their stunning album. Scott and Priscilla married on 30 September 2006 accompanied by a bridal part of 12. Their photographers Matt and Enna Grazier show in this album, how beautifully the design of a book can compliment the style of the wedding day. Click here for a slideshow of the album. It’s no wonder Luke and Chantal’s wedding album caught our attention. For starters, there were three albums, not one, and the first two featured the most amazing celebrations at a fabulous location. We certainly did “wish we were there”. Luke and Chantal were married in April 2007 in Mauritius, East Africa. Chantal had wanted to have her wedding at The One and Only, Mauritius since she was a little girl and spent time there with her family. The festivities lasted five days and included a welcoming cocktail hour, beach Olympics, a salsa party (featuring Emilio Estevez and his salsa dancers) To View More >>

On my trip to the UK I had the opportunity to visit the studio of Alan and Jackie Rankine. Their work is aimed at a high end market. Their sales are substantial. They don't aim to be the latest newest thing. They do work to stay current but they have cleverly understood the needs of their clients. Their formula is simple and effective. Know your clients, produce consistently good work, back up your promise to perform with the quality of your presentation (including coffee and cake), always have something bigger and better for the client to buy, and have your studio in a castle. They don't chase To View More >>

While talking to photographers in the UK, I realised that what I really wanted to get across, was a simple but important message. The album is for the clients. Our part is to gather collateral and write a story for them. Here's the tip: Step back from the design and pause deliberately... Then start with the idea that this album is not a showpiece for you, the photographer, but is a story for the bride and groom. We can apply our own 'signature' to the imagery, but they own the love and the history that we're writing the story about. We are the story tellers, and it's our sensitivity to them To View More >>
