Since launching Product Preview in Print Shop a lot of you have asked for a way to display both the product preview and your own pre-designed display images (room view images) on the buy page. No sooner said than done! Your customers can now see both when they click through to your shopping cart. And it happens automatically. Just enable Product Preview and any display images you've created will appear as clickable thumbnails under the product preview panel. Click here for more about getting started with Product Preview! Love matte printing and matted albums? If your answer's yes you'll love that our Smooth Matte stock is now available in the Overlay Matted range. We already offer a range of beautiful print options in Overlay Matted, including Silver Halide Lustre and Tintoretto, but we know Smooth Matte will be just as popular. Smooth Matte offers that desirable Fine Art look — but being offset printed it's more affordable and more durable than inkjet printing. (If you'd prefer a textured "water-colour" finish go with the ever-popular Tintoretto.) Smooth Matte is available right now through Workspace. To View More >>

"Micro-Weddings/Elopements/Minimony(s)." Whatever you like to call them, it appears smaller weddings are here to stay — at least for the foreseeable future. How things used to be Many wedding photography businesses have been built on the premise that a wedding shoot lasts all day, that there will be "getting-ready" shots needed of at least one half of the couple, that after the ceremony there'll be family photos and a celebration to cover, and that in many cases a second photographer will be needed to fully capture the day’s events. Many photographers have built a career based To View More >>

There are two types of photographers — those who love the sales process, and the rest of us! Yes, most of us really are shy about sales. We don't want to come across like car salesmen or slick real estate people. But we run businesses, and it's sales that make the business world go round. So here are some ideas to boost your album sales without being pushy or sales-y. To sell but stay true to yourself. To leave your clients feeling they've been listened to while consistently delivering beautiful wedding albums to them. By the way, these ideas will work with all product sales — To View More >>

Over the past few weeks we've been working on resources to help support you with your marketing. Today we're launching our first Social Media Marketing Kit. This first kit includes twelve unique designs for sales promotions. As you can see it's focused on albums and prints, but it's easy to swap out the text and images in Photoshop for your own purposes. They can be used on Instagram and Facebook, or included in your marketing ads. Over the next few weeks we'll be launching more resources, so stay tuned. We hope you like them! In many markets Covid is likely to limit the size of weddings — and therefore wedding photography — for some months yet. And with all the restrictions and uncertainty many weddings are likely to be postponed until next season. But there's an upside! Any 2020 weddings delayed until 2021 and 2022 could make those years busier than normal! Which will be a great "problem" to have, as long as you can cope with the extra work. What that means… • This year albums will be very important as a way to maximise revenue and profit from wedding clients — both current To View More >>

“Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has known.” – Oscar Wilde In this series we shine a light on artists expressing their individuality, documenting what they love, working hard on their craft, and sharing it with the world. We spoke to Joel McDowell, a Taupo based photographer who aims to evoke emotion in people through his work, and capture the hidden gems our beautiful country has to offer. How do you stay inspired? That is a good question. Surrounding myself with other creatives, in all mediums and experience levels, is a good way to bounce To View More >>

Life can be frantic. We spend much of our working day on low value tasks — constantly checking our email, picking up our phones for every notification or call — and filling the gaps with our real work, whatever that is. Then we wonder why we're not making progress. We feel burnt out, unsuccessful and overwhelmed — never have enough time, "never get things done". But there's a solution, and I believe that if you start applying it to your own life — by becoming more disciplined about how you structure your days — you'll be more productive, and feel like you have To View More >>

Last Update 12 August, 2020 Hi everyone, As you may know, after a local community outbreak Auckland is back to Covid Level 3, at least until the end of this week, with the rest of New Zealand at Level 2. As previously, we are able to continue working under Level 3, but with certain limitations: — All our “desk-based” staff, including customer support, order processing, admin, colour correction and album design can now work from home, and will continue to do so. — We cannot allow customer contact of any kind. That includes order pickups from the Bindery. — Our Bindery To View More >>
