This is a long post, so I’m starting with the short story! Some people are upset about the terms of trade for our new web-based lab service, Queensberry Print. We want to clarify that, yes, Queensberry Print products are available to both professional photographers and end-consumers. Certainly, “consumer” means “everyone”, but in reality we believe these products will only be of real interest to professionals, serious amateur photographers, and people who received digital files from a professional and who really care how their photos are printed. On 4 September 2009 Margaux and Renzo married in a civil ceremony in the French town of Amiens before heading off to Geneva (Switzerland) to continue the festivities with their guests. Photographer Christophe Flers was there to capture their extended wedding celebration and designed this 18x10 Duo, his very first Queensberry. Fiona and Joey's Valentines day wedding was shot by Gino Demeer of Cactus Photography earlier this year at Woodlands Homestead in Gordonton, New Zealand. Gino designed this 14x10 Duo and added a 7-inch copy album to complete the set for the couple. He also had another set made to for his own client sample collection. Carry case and all. Here's a few shots of his Graphite Leather album... Click here to view a slideshow of Fiona and Joey's wedding album. To see more of Gino's work check out his blog here. Just a few weeks ago, I received something that was a long time coming. My very own Queensberry Album! Now you can imagine why it took me just over a year to actually get it designed and ordered  - I'm a Queensberry designer - which is another way of saying that I'm a perfectionist. And when it came to my own album... it had to be doubly perfect! During the design process, I naively tried to involve Kurt with the decisions about which images to use and what size album to go for. This resulted in a few 'I don't know, just do what you want' type grunts, that weren't particularly helpful. However, To View More >>

Ian spotted a post by New Zealand photographer Isaac de Reus of Perspectives Photography on DWF recently. It was in reply to a thread discussing whether giving your work away free for referrals was good business practice. Isaac shared this great example of how he's leveraged something he can do in return for good quality referrals. The type everyone wants. High-end. It also shows the value of keeping your finger on the wider wedding market's pulse. Thanks for sharing, Isaac - Nigel A month or so ago we approached a very high-end, exclusive venue that only recently started booking and advertising To View More >>

After reading over Nadine’s heartfelt description of her wedding day, it quickly became clear that Nadine and Pascal’s wedding was filled with a great deal of love and emotion. The entire day was a beautiful celebration of their love for one another  - a true love story! The wedding ceremony was held at Les Trois Glands in Luxembourg, which was a special moment Nadine describes very beautifully... “Discovering Pascal at the Trois Glands was a very big moment.” Nadine says, “I look at him already from far away… yes, this is the man of my life, looking To View More >>

For those of you who don't live in Godzone (New Zealand, OK?) Vaughan Smith does the drive time show on New Zealand's top music station, The Edge. He and Fletch have arguably the funniest radio show in the country and I listen to them every day. So when I saw his album working its way through production I thought I'd grab the opportunity to ask him a few girly questions. Read on, ladies, he's not just funny, he's got a soft centre. • Tell us about how it all began - where did you and Sharde meet, and how did you make her fall for you? Like any good modern day romance, it was in the workplace To View More >>

We've made a few changes to our copy album service, and it's all good news! • Flushmount copies are now available in 5-inch, 7-inch and a new 10-inch format, and for all our albums - Flushmount, Overlay Matted, Classic Matted, Duo and Musée. • Instead of only five in total, you can now order up to five of each size - a great way to grab a display sample for your venue partners, maybe? • Pricing is simplified and easier to understand - the base price is slightly higher but there's no charge for extra pages, flips etc. • And you can now order copies separately from the To View More >>
