Congratulations to the winners of the 2018 International Wedding Photographer of the Year awards. The competition was a great success with more than double the entries of 2017, and over sixty countries represented. The overall winner was Australian Dan O’Day, but of course closest to our hearts was the album category, sponsored by Queensberry, which was taken out by a beautiful entry from Latvian photographer Linda Lauva. It tells the story of a small and very charming DIY wedding on the bride and groom's land, by the river, deep in the Latvian countryside. You can see To View More >>

Even with digital images and online galleries everywhere, the most impressive way to show off your work is with a printed portfolio. A printed book shows more than your photography skills. It expresses your design abilities, your taste in materials and your high standards as an artist. If you're thinking about creating your own portfolio, here are some ideas to get you started. They're not like wedding and portrait albums Sample albums normally mimic what you want to sell. They show prospective clients what to expect, and help them visualise their To View More >>

We saw this lovely album as it went through the Queensberry bindery, and decided it should be Album of the Week! Akbar shared a few words about the day, "Shabnam and Rizwan's Walima was essentially a reception that took place in a rural town a couple miles outside of Richmond, Virginia. When entering this town you could tell that not much of it had changed since the 70's and 80's and I wanted to incorporate that feel with the photos I took." This album for Akbar Sayed Photography is a 10x10 Black Classic Leather, Heavy Panorama Flushmount with Silver Halide printing. The embossing is To View More >>

It's quick and easy to order albums from Queensberry, through Workspace. It's a step-by-step process that guides you through each set of options as you personalise your album. Just as important, it helps you avoid "gotchas", where you have your mind set on something we can't do, like emboss Vanilla Bean Micro Leather or Linen. In fact, for that reason alone we recommend that you set up the album before you get involved in page design … and certainly before you offer your customer something we can't do! These gotchas (exceptions) can be frustrating, and we don't like them To View More >>

The festive season is a great time to promote yourself and let your clients know how much you appreciate them. There's no doubt that photographs make fabulous personal gifts, especially in a nice mat, frame or canvas.  Personal touches, and adding value to packages, are good ways to have an impact without breaking the bank. 1. Give something away! Everyone loves a freebie. This could be a loose or matted print, or even a Canvas. These items have relatively short turn-around times, so as long as you hold the giveaway far enough in advance, they will have them by Christmas To View More >>

Beautiful photography, beautifully presented — that's what you and your clients deserve. If you're into portrait, boudoir or pet photography our new Studio Boxes are a must. Compared with our Premium Boxes (previously "Q-Boxes"), Studio Boxes are more affordable, of a simpler construction, with a one-piece lid and wider insert ribbon . They're available in two sizes (10x8 and 14x11) and three depths (for 10, 15 and 20 mats). Choose between Tintoretto and Silver Halide printing. Your clients will love our customisable printed canvas To View More >>

Mark and Louise married on a really, really windy day, the 6th June 2015 at St John the Evangelist Church in the village of Langcliffe — the same Yorkshire Dales village church where Louise's Mum and Dad were married. We think Jade Doherty captured Mark and Louise's wedding  perfectly. We love the fully bled images, which create a perfect balance and highhlight the feature shots beautifully.  Tying of the gates, a local tradition: The church gates are tied together and coins thrown over for children of the village. The children collect the coins To View More >>

As told to Cate Scaglione In the photography world they’re sometimes referred to as the Texas Royalty for their dramatic aesthetic, their long-term success and their A List clientele … but spend five minutes with David and Luke Edmonson and you’ll discover they are anything but elitist. I was fortunate enough to spend time with Luke, who generously revealed the Edmonson sales ethos. With over $100k in album sales alone, their rather emotionally charged sales approach might come as a surprise, often counterintuitive to our industry’s professed sales strategies. To View More >>

Written by: Clare Breheny When I worked in a corporate environment we would have literally hundreds of company-specific terms and acronyms that we used in meetings and emails to describe processes, systems, customers, products etc etc. When someone new joined the company we’d forget and spout out all these three letter acronyms, and we would see their face glaze over as if we were speaking a foreign language. For us, that was how things worked and what things were called. It was our day-to-day language and modus operandi. It would take a new person joining to remind us that To View More >>
