Here are three photos that won’t mean much to you but mean everything to me. They explain why I love wedding albums. The first is from my parents’ wedding in 1945, a beautiful sepia print in a classic folder. Young as he looks, Dad had just returned from five years at war. The girl on the left is his younger sister. Seven years later she married the young man on the right. Like my parents they were together for 55 years. The other woman is my mother’s best friend. I remember her, but she died quite young. The other uniformed man is my father’s best friend. I’m writing To View More >>

The half life of crap In her book The Mesh, Lisa Gansky talks about “the half life of crap” – about cheap manufactured products and how long they last. Or rather don’t last. Her point is that the half life of crap products is way too short. They get boring or they break. They end up at the back of your garage or as land fill. Our poor planet can’t afford To View More >>

Those who know are the perfect prospects. Don’t assume Back in the ’90s Heather and I backpacked around Vietnam. It was a rewarding and emotional experience from end to end, but one of the highlights, after weeks sweating our way around the country, was heading to the Metropole Hotel in Hanoi for a high end lunch. The wait staff weren’t particularly keen to see us, dusty and unkempt with To View More >>
As everyone knows, Covid has been very disruptive for business — from product availability to courier services to prices — and it’s starting to feel like the “new normal”. So we’re starting the year with an updated cover material range, and a new strategy to move this forward in the future. We’re excited about it, but we also know that any change can raise questions, which we’ve tried to answer in advance here. We’d love your feedback! Please take a few minutes to read the following, but if you just want to see the updates follow To View More >>

“Art is the most intense mode of individualism that the world has known.” – Oscar Wilde In this series we shine a light on artists expressing their individuality, documenting what they love, working hard on their craft, and sharing it with the world. Gemma is an adventure and travel photographer currently based in the South Island. Born and raised in Nelson, she's grown up exploring the three national parks that border her home city.? Love matte printing and matted albums? If your answer's yes you'll love that our Smooth Matte stock is now available in the Overlay Matted range. We already offer a range of beautiful print options in Overlay Matted, including Silver Halide Lustre and Tintoretto, but we know Smooth Matte will be just as popular. Smooth Matte offers that desirable Fine Art look — but being offset printed it's more affordable and more durable than inkjet printing. (If you'd prefer a textured "water-colour" finish go with the ever-popular Tintoretto.) Smooth Matte is available right now through Workspace. To View More >>

We thought we should explain where we’re heading in terms of product development over the next few months. There'll be more to come for sure about other products, but this is it for albums. For now! And although we’re working on major updates, especially to our Flushmount and Studio ranges, regular customers will be pleased to know we’ll be tidying up a few anomalies and aggravations in our systems and resources as we go. Please treat what follows as a road map, not a timetable. We’ll make further announcements as things are released. And of course, there’ll To View More >>

Flushmounts are our most popular albums, but we get two requests regularly — more pages and less confusion! So, amongst other things, we’re simplifying the range and adding new thin pages. Watch out for the release announcements, and the introductory offers. Here’s what we’ll be offering in Flushmount: — All album sizes (including new 9x9 and 12x9, which we expect to introduce in the New Year —they’re already a hit in Studio Albums). — All our cover and upgrade options. — Heavy, medium and thin pages (for up to 30, 45 and 60 pages). — Three To View More >>

If you can’t name five things that differentiate you from your competitors, there’s probably only one – your price. Here's what differentiates Queensberry: 1. We believe the way to succeed is to stand out from the crowd, not to join it. There’s less competition, more satisfaction and more pride at the high end of the market … and it’s our job to help get you there. Think of our albums as profit centres, not costs. 2. We’re design-led. The people in your viewfinder will be looking at your albums for much longer than we will. They must look beautiful To View More >>
