Psst... Photojunction's just snuck out another beta release, 1.39b! I feel like we say this every time we blog about a new release, but it's another biggie. There's way too much new PJ goodness in 1.39b to show you in one post, so keep tuned for our next series of 1.39b feature posts over the next couple of weeks. Before we go though, here's a little of what to expect in 1.39b... Work's been done to improve the Alignment features (Smart centering in particular), we've changed the way templates operate (for the better), and we've given you even more control by adding a few new features to the Preferences To View More >>

This will be our third release in three months - notice a trend? The last two were betas adding the new features you've wanted and now this final builds on them to give a stable platform to start 2010.  So to jog your memory here are a few of our favourites... Photojunction 1.32b (release notes) Alignment got some serious attention (accuracy, stickiness, and clarity) Centering got smart (wings, flips, and panoramic) "Undo" got a speed boost ('nuf said) Photojunction 1.33b (release notes) Start window got a makeover (uploads, blog, store and more) Instant Slideshow got resurrected from Retro To View More >>

I don't read the instructions unless I need to. Needing to is defined by 'it won't work unless you read the instructions.' One of the weaknesses in Photojunction is its simplicity and a sense that you can work it out just by using it. Some of us would have it no other way. But that means there is a tendency to apply the status quo approach to it. It is too easy to write off something because you had a bad experience with previous versions. Ultimately we can become neglectful of progress through our established habits. I had a conversation over dinner with another photographer last night. They said To View More >>

This post is now superseded by new Photojunction functionality. If you're uploading your Queensberry album orders using LabFTP, we've just released version 3, with added functionality for ordering prints from QBY online. We're very excited about the online print ordering function – but it's restricted for now to New Zealand clients, so let me talk first about how it impacts on albums. LabFTP 3 integrates more closely with PJ Remix. For example you're no longer asked to provide information that you've already entered in PJ. It also shares Remix's look and feel. Version 3 is no longer a beta, To View More >>

It's time to hand over the keys to November's brand new beta - Photojunction v 1.33b. It's another biggy, so instead of trying to cram everything into one post, we'll blog about these specific features over the next week or so... Start Window – direct access to more functions Smart Centering – The ‘Align to center’ button now thinks a bit harder about your intentions Auto Flow – A simple automatic album creation feature using Template and Image Collections Instant Slideshow – View a slideshow of an album design with the click of a button. Smart Slideshow Preferences – Set your own To View More >>

Last night we released PJ Remix version 1.32 beta. We're pretty excited about some of the improvements and we've already had some great feedback. In this version we've focused heavily on refining current features. Alignment's a big one... We've added anchors (dots) to the alignment lines to indicate which apertures are perfectly aligned with each other. And we've made the snap-to guides even stickier to ensure your apertures snap in to alignment from even further out. You may have also noticed the red notification symbol above the Photojunction Store link on the home page. That'll show you the To View More >>

Sometimes it's nice to reminisce... When we started to rewrite Photojunction we named the master file "PJ Jr." as a joke - that name still stands as our project name today... some 3 years later. All the full time developers we started with for the rewrite, are still with us. It took 3,000 development hours to get Remix to a stage where we could send it to other staff to have a look.  That would've taken one person a year and a half to complete on their own. My personal favourite email... One of our beta testers emailed to tell us she considered PJ Remix to be a 'metro' bit of software. The developers To View More >>

Remix Final 1.30 is the combination of six months hard work, four beta releases and invaluable feedback from our loyal community... It's the most comprehensive, intuitive and effective version of Photojunction Remix we’ ve ever released. We hope you’ ll think so too. But first up, here's a quick review of the major features first released in the beta releases since 1.25. Remix beta 1.26: A feature packed release which included text functionality , importing PSD ’ s as templates and images, and proof sheets . Remix beta 1.27: The game changer - new interface, managed workflow and built To View More >>
